Dana Ground Breaking Ceremony
On Friday, August 20, 2010
at 2:30 P.M., a ground breaking ceremony took place at the Dana
Fire Station located at the corner of Maple and Parkwood Streets
for a New Wastewater Treatment and Collection System Project.
This $6.7 million project will consist of a New Activated Sludge
Wastewater Treatment Facility, Conventional Gravity Sewers, two (2)
Lift Stations, and a small laboratory.
This project was partially funded by ARRA (American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act) funds through USDA Rural Development in the form
of a grant and low interest loan. The Town also received a
Disaster Recovery Grant from the Office of Community and Rural
Affairs.
The New Wastewater Treatment Plant and Collection System Project
was designed by Commonwealth Engineers, Inc. and will be
constructed by Atlas Excavation, Graves Plumbing Company, and
B&T Drainage and Excavating. This project will begin
immediately and will be completed in approximately ten (10)
months.
