Jennings Northwest Regional Utilities

Wastewater Improvement Projects

This project was awarded $10 million ARRA grant and $7 million OCRA grant to reach 100% funding.

Construction began on March 1, 2010

Division "A" - Wastewater Treatment Facility Improvements Project

Project will consist of construction of new headworks with 1 mm fine screen & grit removal, new secondary aerations tanks with fixed media, a new blower building and miscellaneous piping, electrical and control improvements, new WWTP will have a design capacity of 0.352 MGD with a peak capacity of 1.7 MGD.

Division "B" - Vacuum Pump Station Improvements

Project will consist of the modification and expansion of seven stations including building construction, new tanks, pumps, controls and electrical systems.
The capacity of the stations are as follows:
VSP - 1: 76 gpm VSP - 5: 197 gpm
VSP - 2: 140 gpm VSP - 6: 262 gpm
VSP - 3: 258 gpm VSP - 8: 89 gpm
VSP - 4: 290 gpm

Division "C" - Vacuum Sewer Collection System Improvements

Project will consist of the installation of approximately 41,200 feet of 4 inch and 10,350 feet of 6 inch vacuum lines, approximately 35,150 feet of 6 inch gravity service collectors, and 198 vacuum valve pits.

Division "D" - Vacuum Sewer Collection System Improvements

Project will consist of the installation of approximately 43,200 feet of 4 inch, 15,420 feet of 6 inch and 2,255 feet of 8 inch vacuum lines, approximately 43,950 feet of 6 inch gravity service collectors, and 251 vacuum valve pits.

Division "E" - Vacuum/Gravity Sewer Collection System Improvements

Project will consist of the installation of approximately 20,720 feet of 4 inch and 6,390 feet of 6 inch vacuum lines, approximately 15,940 feet of 6 inch gravity service collectors, and 93 vacuum valve pits. This contract shall also include 1,200 LF of 8" gravity sanitary sewer, 9 precast manholes and rehabilitation of 89 sanitary manhole structures.

Division "F" - Maintenance Building Improvements

Project will consist of the construction of an 80 ft. x 40 ft. wood frame building and associated electrical and site work.

Division "G" - Vacuum Pit Alarm System

Project will consist of the installation of 542 vacuum pit alarm monitoring systems with radio systems and website interface.

Town of Dana

New Sanitary Collection And Treatment System

 

This Project originally bid in two (2) contract divisions on April 29th 2010.

One (1) bid was received per division (bid tabulations attached).

In-so-much, the Town Council opted to rebid the project, incorporating the following general modifications:

Division A - New Wastewater Collection System

This work has been broken up into three (3) divisions of work as generally described in the attached advertisement for bid.

  • Division A-1
  • Division A-2
  • Division A-3

Additionally, we have incorporated a bid alternative for (1) the addition of a third new lift station and (2) a corresponding shallowing of sewers and the original new lift station no. 1 wet well.

Division B - New Wastewater Treatment System

This work remains relatively unchanged (see advertisement for bid). However, we have incorporated cost savings measures that we anticpate will be reflected favorably in the rebid; namely:

  1. Electrical Design Modifications including a revised emergency generator specification (providing a less costly generator and incorporating several electrical cost savings measures).
  2. Structural Design Modifications which consists of a revision to the concrete pour schedule that is anticipated to result in labor cost savings for the installing contractor.
  3. Instrumentation and Control Specification Modifications primarily consisting of the elimination of some VFDs and corresponding NEMA 4X enclosures and incorporating some EC work in the I&C work for anticipated cost savings.
  4. Equipment Specification Modifications - primarily consisting of elimination of some testing/certification requirements for the blowers; elimination of blower enclosure heaters, spare equipment, etc.

The original plans, specifications, and addenda apply. The Engineer has issued an Addenda No. 2 for rebidding purposes.

Any new bidders will be provided the original plans and specifications, along with Addenda No. 1 and Addenda No. 2.

Town of Osgood - Bid Date: October 26, 2010 (Revised Date)

Waterworks Improvements Project

The Project will be constructed in two (2) contract divisions, which are defined and outlined as follows:

Division A - Water Treatment Plant

The works includes construction of a 300,000 gallon clear well, replacement of one up-flow clarifier mechanism and tank rehabilitation, up-flow clarifier mechanism rehabilitation and tank rehabilitation, quarry bank stabilization, replacement of three (3) Intermediate raw water submersible pumps, upgrade of intermediate pumps control panel and electrical, raw water flow meter replacement upgrade of SCADA system, filter media replacement, replace two (2) high service pump units, backwash pond cleaning and related sludge disposal, clarifiers area roof, WTP building maintenance, installation of eight (8) distribution system sampling hydrants, and replacement of the chlorine analyzer at the WTP.

Division B - Water Distribution System Improvements

Work includes construction of 2,530 L.F. of 6-inch PVC water main, 1,585 L.F. of 6-inch directionally drilled HDPE water main, necessary connections with existing water lines, fire hydrants, valves, service reconnections, appurtenances, and four (4) sampling stations.

Town of Winamac - Bid Date: July 29, 2010

Improvements To The Sanitary Sewer Collection System LTCP Phase III

The Project will be constructed in one (1) contract division and is defined and outlined as follows:

The goal of this project is to separate storm and sanitary flows in the central and southern area of the Town of Winamac.  The project consists of new storm and sanitary sewers, cured-in-place pipe lining of some existing sewers and connecting a number of existing sanitary sewer customer laterals to the new sanitary sewer.  Lift Station No. 2 will be replaced with a new Lift Station No. 2.  The project will also include several locations of pipe installation using the bore and jack method.  Due to the depth of the new sewer, water main repair and replacement, storm inlet replacement, sidewalk, pavement and driveway repair and replacement will also be included along with de-watering.

Sanitary Sewer System Improvements

We have several Sanitary Sewer System Improvements projects at the Jay County Regional Sewer District.  Please see below for a general description of each project and location.

Sanitary Sewer System Improvements - Foxfire Addition

The general scope of the project consists of the installation of 1,460 LF of 3" force main, 6,960 LF of 2" force main, 1,250 LF of 1-1/2" force main, twenty (20) grinder pump stations and complete site restoration to service existing residential development with failing, on-site septic systems along SR 67 and within the Foxfire Addition.

Sanitary Sewer System Improvements - Skeens Addition

The general scope of the project consists of the installation of 2,400 LF of 3" force main, 5,570 LF of 2" force main, 430 LF of 1-1/2" force main, fourteen (14) simplex grinder pump stations, one (1) duplex grinder pump station and complete site restoration to service existing residential and commercial development with failing, on-site septic systems along Skeens Drive, County Road 1150 West and County Road 300 South.

Sanitary Sewer System Improvements - Arlington Ave., Broad St., & Willow Dr.

The general scope of the project consists of the installation of 2,870 LF of 8" gravity sanitary sewer and complete site restoration to service existing residential development with failing on-site septic systems along Arlington Ave., Broad St., and Willow Dr.

Wastewater Collection & Treatment Facilities Project Divisions A & B

The Project will be constructed in two (2) contract divisions, which are defined and outlined as follows:

Division A
Construction of a low-pressure sewer system and appurtenances to service the Richland City area, two lift stations, and a 10-inch force main approximately six miles in length.


Division B
Construction of a low-pressure sewer system and appurtenances to service the areas of Hatfield, Eureka, and the French Island Boat Club, three lift stations, and connecting force mains.

City of Richmond: Bid Date - November 23, 2010

East Side Interceptor Replacement Project Phase II

Eastside Interceptor Replacement Phase II Project

The proposed construction associated with the base bid includes, but is not limited to, the trenchless installation of approximately 2,160 LF of new 54-inch interceptor sewer, construction of launching and receiving shafts, connecting to the existing terminus of the East Side Interceptor Replacement Project - Phase I, connecting to the existing 36-inch East Side Interceptor at the new sanitary structure #208, connections to CSO 005, utility relocations especially those at shaft locations, notification to the City and Engineer of utility conflicts, and all other activities related to the trenchless construction.

Mandatory Alternate "A" includes, but is not limited to, cleaning, televising, bypass pumping, and CIPP lining of the existing 36-inch East Side Interceptor from the new sanitary structure #208 to the existing sanitary manhole #182-087.  An assessment of the televising footage will determine the final amount of CIPP lining required.

Mandatory Alternate "B" includes, but is not limited to, cleaning, televising, bypass pumping and CIPP lining of the existing 36-inch East Side Interceptor from the new sanitary interceptor structure #200 to the existing sanitary sewer manhole #182-053, and lateral/pipe reinstatements.  An assessment of the televising footage will determine the final amount of CIPP lining required.

Mandatory Alternate "C" includes, but is not limited to, construction of new sanitary sewer surface lines and manholes, reconnection of existing sanitary sewer laterals and plugging downstream sewers as indicated on the plans.

Mandatory Alternate "D" includes, but is not limited to, construction of new sanitary sewer surface lines and manholes, reconnection of existing sanitary sewer laterals and plugging downstream sewers as indicated on the plans.

Mandatory Alternate "E" includes, but is not limited to, construction of new sanitary sewer outside drops for Structure #204 and Structure #206 including structure penetrations, pipe, fittings, vertical pipe, grout, temporary pipe plugs, horizontal pipe stub out, gasketed structure openings, concrete and reinforcing steel as necessary to install the drops as shown on the plans.

All proposals shall be properly and completely executed on Form No. 96 as prescribed by the State Board of Accounts of the State of Indiana.  All proposals submitted shall be accompanied by an acceptable Bidder's Bond, Certified Check or Cashier's Check made payable to Richmond Sanitary District in the amount of 5% of the total bid price.  If the bidder is from out-of-state, the Bidder's Bond must be secured by a Surety who is admitted to do business in Indiana.  The successful bidder will be required to submit a Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the bid price and a 100% Labor and Materials Payment Bond prior to commencing work. Checks of the unsuccessful bidders will be returned on award of the proposals.

Copies of plans, specifications and bidding documents may be purchased from Richmond Sanitary District, 2380 Liberty Avenue, Richmond, Indiana.  Office hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30AM to 4:30PM.  There will be a non-refundable fee of $150 payable to Richmond Sanitary District.  A Fed-Ex or UPS account number must be provided in order for plans/specifications to be mailed to bidder.  All proposals should be placed in a sealed envelope marked "Confidential-Bid Proposal" on outside of envelope.

A pre-bid conference will be held November 8, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Richmond Sanitary District, Administration Building, 2380 Liberty Avenue, Richmond, Indiana. You are strongly encouraged to attend this conference (meeting) as this will be the only one conducted.

Bidder will be required to comply with all applicable Equal Employment Opportunity laws and regulations, including Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1983.

City of Montpelier: NEW Bid Date - March 10, 2011

Water Works Improvements Project

The Project will be constructed in two (2) contract divisions, which are defined and outlined as follows:

Division "A" - Existing Filter Building

This division shall include the replacement of the existing 500 gpm filter system with two (2) redundant smaller filter units having a capacity of 300 gpm each, adding a third high service  pump in the old fire pump location, update all pump controls, install a new 200 KW emergency generator with auto transfer switch, update the chlorination injection system and scales, furnish and install a free chlorination sensor-recorder on high service discharge line, furnish and  install two (2) industrial dehumidifier, install a new roof for water plant building, install/apply a new weather proof coating to the outside of the clearwell/storage tank, repainting of all piping, repainting the building floor, updating all lighting, electrical and HVAC, improve the SCADA, install a 6 ft high chain link security fence around the Water Treatment Plant Site,  building of a new 6 ft. high chain link security fence along the site perimeter to enclose the 200,000 gallon elevated water storage tank water, furnish and install a new 40 KW emergency generator with auto transfer switch at the tank site, and rebuild the existing well #1 pump to like new condition.  The work includes specific demolition and temporary construction to maintain the waterworks.

Division "B" - Water Distribution System Improvements

This division shall include construction of approximately 24,323 L.F. of 6-inch, 2,050 L.F. of 8-inch, 609 L.F. of 3-inch, 470 L.F. of 12-inch, and 20 L.F. of 10-inch, 4-inch, and      2-inch PVC or DI water main and associated service lines, water meters, valves, hydrants, earthwork, pavement restoration, and all other work required for complete installation of water mains.

Hoagland Wastewatre Treatment Facility Improvements

The project involves rehabilitation of the sanitary sewer collection system and wastewater treatment plant improvements.  The sanitary sewer system improvements include replacement of approximately 433 LF of 10" sanitary sewer replacement, cleaning, televising, disposal of removed material, trenchless rehabilitation using CIPP of 8,758 LF of existing sewer, including lateral reinsertion, and rehabilitation of 37 manholes in Project Areas 1 thru 6 using the techniques listed in these specifications and called out on the plans and all ancillary work necessary to complete the work described.  In addition to the work described above for the collection system, an additional 64 manholes are included in Areas A thru G and area included in the bid as deductive alternatives.

Storm Drainage Improvements Project

The Project will be constructed in one (1) contract division and is defined and outlined as follows:

The general scope of this project will consist of the installation of approximately 4,600 feet of 12-inch to 36-inch diameter storm sewers within the Town of Marengo (Crawford County), Indiana.  The project will also include associated manholes, inlets, earthwork, rock removal, final grading and seeding, erosion control and pavement restoration.

A prebid meeting will be held at the Town Hall, 23 W. Jennings Street, Evansville, Indiana on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. (Local Time). All prime contractors, subcontractors, vendors and suppliers and other interested parties are invited to attend.

The Project will be constructed in one (1) contract division and is defined and outlined as follows:

This project primarily consists of installing approximately two-hundred forty-five (245) feet of 8" gravity sewer; fifty (50) feet of jack and bore; three (3) manhole structures; mitigation as required by the DNR; bypass pumping; and removing an existing aerial sewer pipe. All materials are contractor supplied and installed.
